Now Is The Time! The latest Squire Fan Club Newsletter

Welcome to the latest newsletter! Today we are announcing some up coming shows!

We are finally able to announce some upcoming concerts!! Last year was the first ever year Squire hadn’t performed live on stage during a calendar year for over two decades! We looked at our list of shows, and the band has played concerts in every year since 1999! And before that Anthony was performing either solo or as Cartoon Mayhem in every year, and before that … Squire all the way back to 1978! So we have to go back to school days to find the next missing period. We are thrilled to announce some up coming dates. We love playing live!

First off is the Pump It Up Powerpop Festival over the weekend of 25/26th September at The Lexington, Islington, London. This is right up Squire's street - literally! And it will be fun to play amongst other power pop bands such as The Speedways. Final line up and days to be decided as the promoters wait for news of overseas travel restrictions being lifted etc. but it will be Squire’s first date of the year and a power pop blast!

The following weekend is a support date on 1st October with From The Jam at Loughborough Town Hall, Loughborough, UK, which is in the centre of the Midlands so this is perfect for fans all over the Midlands area.

We then wait for December 11th for a special headline show in Blackpool, and a great opportunity to see us with The Purple Hearts who first played with Squire at Upstairs at Ronnie Scotts on 24th April 1979,

and many times since! So it will be a great atmosphere, and a Christmas show as well.

The following year on April 29th 2022, we make it to Spain with Secret Affair for the Weekender at Miranda de Ebro, Spain, which has been postponed since 2020, so we expect the pent up anticipation and reception to be huge!

Another concert postponed from 2020, is the London Mods Mayday! It is now scheduled for Sunday May1st 2022, at The Round Chapel, E5, and Squire will be playing alongside Kenney Jones, Secret Affair et al. and it is always a premier mod event!

Of course, Squire were the first band on stage at the very first Mods Mayday on 7th May 1979, which was recorded for the legendary Mods Mayday LP.

Finally, two dates in Germany! 27th May at Nochtwache, Hamburg, and 28th May at Wild At Heart, Berlin. It will be Squire's first time in Germany since 1984 and the September Gurls tour!

All the dates and links to further details are over on the Live Dates page - link here. We hope to add more dates soon. Of course, no one knows how it will be inside venues until we all start socialising again, but we look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at a gig sometime. Please introduce yourself, bring records for signing or get a photo, we love to meet everyone!

Finally, thank you again to everyone who has purchased the Anthony Meynell - Live In Tokyo CD! We’ve seen some great mentions on the social media posts.

We will be announcing new record releases soon, and Squire are looking forward to a busy year ahead!

Al the best from Squire
