Vinyl Vault - Purple Hearts - Plane Crash

In 1982, while selling records at Merc in Carnaby Street, I often bumped into other bands doing the same. I’d known The Purple Hearts since we played together at Ronnie Scott’s in 1979, during the rise of the mod revival, and we’ve shared stages many times across the decades.

One day in Carnaby Street, I was chatting with Simon about studio recording and 12-string guitars—they’d used one on a track. I’m pretty sure I gave him a copy of Girl On A Train, and he handed me this in return. A great memory and a fantastic record!
