When I met The Question, this was their single. Tony Rugolo, a brilliant writer and true artist, often hosted me in LA, and his band backed me during Squire’s 1983 gigs at the 3-2-1 Club and Concert Factory. Tony and David White have been The Question since the start, and Phil Cusimano brings extra mod vibes to the band. We’ve played together multiple times over the years, including 1983, 1984, 1985, 1997, 2008, and 2012.
This track combines frenetic mod drums and slashing guitar with a harmonic sophistication reminiscent of Brian Wilson. Simple yet hauntingly inspired, it’s a truly great record. While I was staying with Tony, he also wrote Wild Child for The Untouchables—a testament to his talent!
